The Next Sixes Tournament
R3VA is planning our next Sixes tournament — the fast-paced, high-touch 6v6 format our players love. We ran two successful events in 2025 (August and November) and we’re lining up the next one.
Date & location TBD — we’re gauging team interest now to lock in a venue and date that works for the most teams.
What Is Sixes?
Sixes is the Olympic-style 6v6 format — smaller field, constant transition, and more touches for every player. It’s the fastest-growing format in youth and elite lacrosse, and the game for the 2028 LA Olympics.
→ See the full Sixes Format breakdown — field size, pace, and why we build R3VA around it.
Why Sixes?
| Traditional 10v10 | Sixes 6v6 |
|---|---|
| 10–15 touches per player | 30–40 touches per player |
| Specialized positions | Everyone plays both ways |
| Slower pace, set offenses | Constant transition, fast decisions |
| Large roster (18–24) | Small roster (12–15) = more playing time |
| Full field (~110 yds) | Half field (~70 yds) = easier to book, lower cost |
Who Should Play
- Age groups: 10U through 14U (we’ll confirm brackets based on interest)
- Experience: Prior lacrosse experience recommended — sixes is fast and rewards stick skills
- Teams: Club teams, rec all-star squads, or mixed rosters — we can help match players to teams
Get On The List
We’re collecting team and player interest now. No commitment yet — just let us know you want in.
Or contact us with questions. We’ll confirm date, location, and brackets once we have enough teams.
Past R3VA Sixes Events
- August 2025 — Summer program, 4 practices, Elite Sixes tournament play
- November 2025 — Fall program, 5 practices, Elite Sixes tournament play
Both seasons saw strong player development and high retention. Players love the pace, parents love the cost, coaches love the touches.
Format & Rules
We follow US Lacrosse Sixes rules with a few R3VA adjustments:
- No long poles (consistent with our developmental philosophy — all short sticks)
- Running clock except final 2 minutes of 4th quarter
- No shot clock for youth divisions (10U/12U) — 30-second shot clock for 14U
- Roster min 12, max 15 — guarantees playing time
Cost
We run R3VA tournaments the same way we run teams — transparent, cost-effective, no hidden fees.
Per-player pricing will be announced once we lock the venue and finalize details.
